Department of State Educational Research and Training (DSERT), Karnataka has released the Guidelines regarding Class 1 to 10 Evaluation for the year 2023 – 24
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT (FA) 1
As per the notification released Formative Assessment (FA) 1 to be conducted for the students of class 1 to 5 in month of July 2023,
For students of Class 1 to 3 FA 1 to be conducted for 20% of syllabus, for Class 4 and 5 FA 1 to be conducted for 25% of Syllabus, FA 1 for Class 1 to 5 to be conducted for 15 Marks,
For students of Class 6 to 8 FA 1 to be conducted for 25% of syllabus, FA 1 for Class 6 to 8 to be conducted for 10 Marks
For students of Class 9 and 10 FA 1 to be conducted for 25% of syllabus, FA 1 for Class 9 and 10 to be conducted for 50 Marks (Activities 15 + 15 Marks, Assessment Test – 20 Marks),Â

Formative Assessment (FA) 2 to be conducted for the students of class 1 to 5 in month of September 2023,
For students of Class 1 to 3 FA 2 to be conducted for 30% of syllabus, for Class 4 and 5 FA 2 to be conducted for 25% of Syllabus, FA 2 for Class 1 to 5 to be conducted for 15 Marks,
For students of Class 6 to 8 FA 2 to be conducted for 25% of syllabus, FA 2 for Class 6 to 8 to be conducted for 10 Marks
For students of Class 9 and 10 FA 2 to be conducted for 25% of syllabus, FA 2 for Class 9 and 10 to be conducted for 50 Marks (Activities 15 + 15 Marks, Assessment Test – 20 Marks),Â
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT (SA) 1
Summative Assessment (SA) 1 to be conducted for the students of class 1 to 5 in month of October 2023,
For students of Class 1 to 5 SA 1 to be conducted for 50% of syllabus, SA 1 to be conducted for 50 Marks (30 Marks Written and 20 Marks Oral) to be reduced to 20 Marks,
For students of Class 6 to 8 SA 1 to be conducted for 50% of syllabus, SA 1 for Class 6 to 8 to be conducted for 50 Marks, (30 Marks Written and 20 Marks Oral) to be reduced to 30 Marks,
For students of Class 9 and 10 SA 1 to be conducted for 50% of syllabus, SA 1 for Class 9 and 10 to be conducted for 100 Marks (1st Language) and 80 Marks (Other Subjects)Â

For students of Class 1 to 3 FA 3 to be conducted for 30% of syllabus, for Class 4 and 5 FA 3 to be conducted for 30% of Syllabus, FA 3 for Class 1 to 5 to be conducted for 15 Marks,
For students of Class 6 to 8 FA 3 to be conducted for 40% of syllabus, FA 3 for Class 6 to 8 to be conducted for 10 Marks
For students of Class 9 and 10 FA 3 to be conducted for 40% of syllabus, FA 3 for Class 9 and 10 to be conducted for 50 Marks (Activities 15 + 15 Marks, Assessment Test – 20 Marks),Â
