Guidelines for Implementation of 10 Bagless days in school been released, Prepared by faculty members of PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education and various other organisations and institutions, the idea behind it is to make learning at school a joyful and stress-free experience for students, easing the burden of the bag for the students, but more importantly to inculcate in them a feeling of love for going to school every day
This guideline covers all the important aspects of the implementation including the suggestive section, which deals with the various dimensions to be considered for bagless days’ activities, There are specific instructions for teachers as well as students to enable them to understand their roles as they play out the activities, This guideline will help schools to implement the activities in a systematic way
A practice-based curriculum for Grades 6-8 will be appropriately designed by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) while framing the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2020-21
All students will participate in a 10-day bagless period sometime during Grades 6-8 where they intern with local vocational experts. Similar internship opportunities to learn vocational subjects may be made available to students throughout Grades 6-12, including holiday periods
Bagless days will be encouraged throughout the year for various types of enrichment activities involving arts, quizzes, sports, and vocational crafts. Children will be given periodic exposure to activities outside school
