The admit card for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021 has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology- Bombay, the Candidates who are registered for the exam can download it by logging in using their enrollment number, email address and password. GATE 2021 Exam city change window reopened |
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has reopened the GOAPS portal to allow candidates appearing for GATE 2021 Exam to change the place of the exam centre till 15th December 2020,
According to the statement released,it stated “GATE 2021 committee received several requests from the successfully registered candidates to provide the last chance to change the choice of examination city,” the official notice read. “Considering the pandemic situation and the requests received from a large section of the registered candidates, the GATE 2021 committee has decided to re-open the online portal GOAPS,”,

GATE 2021 Paper Wise and Shift wise Schedule released |
The paper wise and shift wise detailed schedule of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021 all 27 papers, including two new papers has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay,

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination conducted across the country by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) located at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee on behalf of National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
NOTE : Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory to get admission and financial assistance to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, with Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government Scholarships / Assistantship for post graduate programmes
The GATE Scores are used by certain Public sectors undertaking (PSUs) like Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCI) for giving appointments
The information brochure for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021 was released on Friday by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, GATE 2021 computer-based examination will be conducted across the country from February 5 to 14, 2021, at various centres, According to official Notice “All Test Papers of GATE 2021 will be entirely objective type. Patterns of questions may include (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and/or (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions,” The duration of Exam will be 3 hours, it will have 2 section – General Aptitude (GA) + Candidate’s Selected Subject, Students have option to select 1 subject of 27,
ELIGIBILITY : A candidate who is pursuing the 3rd year of higher undergraduate degree program OR has already passed any Government approved Degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts of any branch
Exam Highlights
- Dates of examination: 5th February to 14th February 2021, The Exam will have two sessions (forenoon and afternoon) on each day.
- GATE 2021 will Fully Computer Based Test (CBT).
- In GATE 2021 two new subjects are introduced

- The Admit Cards for GATE 2021 would be available only on GOAPS website, Printed copies of Admit card will not be sent to the candidates, they need to get it download and carry at Exam centers
- The candidates should attend Exam at the centre and date specified in Admit Card, No request for any changes in the Centre or Date/Time specified in the Admit Card will be allowed
- If Candidates carrying Calculators, Mobile phones, any other electronic/communication devices, wallets, books, papers, loose sheets, data or handbooks, tables, pen/pencil box/pouch, watches of any form in the examination hall (even if not using) – etc will be disqualified, as they are strictly been prohibited
- For randomly selected candidates Biometric information (such as, Photograph, Iris scan and Fingerprints) may be captured before the start or during the examination.
- In all the matters concerning GATE 20201 the decision of GATE 2021 Committee will be final and candidates are abide to it
- The candidate can choose FOUR cities from the list of given examination centres
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Application for GATE 2021 must be submitted ONLINE through GOAPS website only
- The photograph, signature, category certificate (SC/ST/PwD) and/or Dyslexic certificate, wherever applicable, must be uploaded while applying online
- Candidates MUST enter the valid photo identity (ID) number specified in any one of the following IDs: Aadhaar-UID, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID, Employee ID and Driving License as they need to produce the same at the time of verification
- The candidate has to choose a password during Enrolment at GOAPS. This password must be remembered along with the GOAPS Enrolment ID to login to GOAPS.
- The good Quality passport size (3.5 cm Width × 4.5 cm Height) Photograph in color with white background should be uploaded, since the GATE 2021 admit card and scorecard will be printed with the same photograph that you haveuploaded in online application form.
- Draw rectangular box of size 2 cm × 7 cm (Height × Width) on an A4 white paper, Sign with black or dark blue ink pen within the box and upload while filling application form
- Before submitting the GATE 2021 Application Form, the candidate MUST ensure that all the details and all the necessary supporting documents are filled and uploaded wherever its asked to do and there is NO ERROR in the complete application process.
