Department of Pre University, Karnataka has released the guidelines regarding 20 Internal Marks for First year and Second year PU Exams in Subjects without Practicals, As per the guidelines released from the year 2023 – 24 for the subjects without Practicals 20 Internal Marks to be allotted,
Considering the average of Marks obtained by the Student in First Unit Test, Second Unit Test, Mid Term Examination 10 Marks will be allotted,
College Level Project and Assessment 10 Marks will be allotted (Writing 5 Marks, Presentation 2 Marks and Viva Voce 2 Marks) Unit Tests to be conducted for 40 Marks and Mid Term Examination to be conducted for 80 Marks

Department of Pre University, Karnataka to set 20 internal marks for PU Exams in subjects without Practical’s, From the academic year 2023 – 24 the Karnataka State Government has ordered to consider 20 marks as internal for examination in first year and second year PUC subjects not having practical exams, However the repeaters and students who register as private candidates will have to answer a 100 marks question paper
In line with the Evaluation pattern of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), a proposal regarding considering 20 marks as internal for examination in first year and second year PUC subjects not having practical exams was sent to the Karnataka State Government by the director of Department of Pre University, Karnataka, With this, the evaluation for first year and second year PUC subjects without practical exams will be based on 20 marks for internal and 80 for theoretical.
Department of Pre University, Karnataka is being conducting exam for the first year and second year PUC subjects with Practicals for 100 Marks of which 30 marks for practical examination and 70 marks for theoretical examination.
For all other subjects without practical classes, a question paper of 100 marks was prepared and annual examinations were conducted, to understand the potential of students with comprehensive evaluation, bring uniformity in the performance of the students. the decision was taken to set 20 Marks for Internal Assessment
