The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the detailed schedule and guidelines for the post-result process for the Class 10 and 12 board exams of 2025. This multi-stage process will allow students to access scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets, and subsequently apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation of specific answers, or both, if they find discrepancies or are dissatisfied with their scores.
ACCESS TO EVALUATED ANSWER BOOKS
According to the CBSE’s official notification, students can request scanned copies of their evaluated answer books for subjects of their choice. However, this request is a prerequisite for further steps such as mark verification and re-evaluation. Only students who have applied for the scanned copies will be eligible to request these additional reviews.
Students are advised to meticulously review the scanned answer sheets for any marking errors, totaling issues, or unmarked answers before proceeding to the next stage of the post-result process.
CBSE CLASS 10 POST-RESULT DATES AND FEES
Class 10 students can request scanned copies of their evaluated answer books between 27th May and 2nd June 2025. The fee for obtaining a scanned copy is Rs 500 per subject.
After receiving the scanned documents, students who wish to challenge their results can apply for mark verification, re-evaluation, or both from 3rd to 7th June 2025. The charges for this stage are as follows:
- Mark verification: Rs 500 per answer book
- Re-evaluation: Rs 100 per question
It is important to note that re-evaluation will only be applicable to the theory portion of the exam and not for internal assessments or practicals.
CBSE CLASS 12 POST-RESULT PROCESS BEGINS EARLIER
Senior Secondary (Class 12) students have an earlier window for the post-result application. They can apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books from 21st May to 27th May 2025. The application fee for Class 12 students is Rs 700 per subject.
Following this, the window for verification and re-evaluation opens from 28th May to 3rd June 2025. The fee structure remains the same as that of Class 10:
- Mark verification: Rs 500 per answer book
- Re-evaluation: Rs 100 per question
As with Class 10, only students who have requested the scanned copies of their evaluated answer books will be eligible to apply for re-evaluation or mark verification.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
- Re-evaluation and verification are only applicable to theory papers.
- Students must apply online through the CBSE’s official platform.
- Once the scanned copy is reviewed, students must act promptly within the specified timelines to initiate the re-evaluation or mark verification process.
CBSE has reiterated the importance of students thoroughly reading all instructions before applying, as no requests will be entertained after the deadline. This initiative by CBSE aims to enhance transparency and give students a fair opportunity to ensure their marks reflect their true performance, for more details CLICK HERE
