JKBOSE 2025 Syllabus Relaxation for Classes 10, 11, and 12
In a major relief to students, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has announced a 15% relaxation in syllabus for students of classes 10, 11, and 12 appearing in the Annual Regular 2025 examinations (October–November session).
The official notification dated October 4, 2025, stated:
“Students appearing in Classes 10, 11, and 12 in the ensuing Annual Regular 2025 examinations in Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division, including the UT of Ladakh, shall attempt 85% of marks, which will correspond to 100% marks, thereby availing 15% relaxation in the syllabus.”
This decision was taken following recommendations from the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir and Jammu, and in response to requests from various stakeholders. The academic year faced multiple disruptions due to delayed commencement of classes, heatwaves, torrential rains, and floods that affected the study schedule.
Exam Pattern and Evaluation
According to the JKBOSE notification, question papers will be framed from the entire prescribed syllabus, but students need to attempt questions worth only 85% of the total marks. Each Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) will be marked individually, and the same evaluation system will apply to grammar portions in language subjects.
This change ensures fairness for all students affected by the shortened academic calendar while maintaining academic standards and examination integrity.
