The Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) is set to commence its much-awaited online counselling process for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD admissions 2025 from September 2, 2025. This comes nearly two months after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the CUET UG 2025 results on July 4. The registration window for ICAR counselling will remain open for about a week, giving candidates ample time to submit their applications.
According to the official timeline, the ICAR rank list 2025 will be released in the third week of September, followed by the first round of seat allotment and college reporting between September 15–17.
Reason for Delay in ICAR Counselling 2025
Confirming the schedule, Dr. JK Jena, Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR, told indianexpress.com that the counselling was originally planned to start on July 31, 2025. However, the process was postponed due to delays in receiving candidate data from NTA and repeated requests from several State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and Deemed Universities for an extension.
This delay has caused anxiety among thousands of students who cleared the CUET UG exam. Many candidates have already taken backup admissions in private colleges and state universities, where academic sessions are in progress, as they await clarity from ICAR.
ICAR Counselling 2025: Seat Distribution
