Maharashtra Education Department Launches 56 University Services on Aaple Sarkar Portal

The Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department has officially launched 56 university-related services on the Aaple Sarkar portal, a major step toward digitizing academic processes and making them more accessible to students across the state. Out of the 56 services, 20 are directly linked to universities, benefitting nearly 20 lakh students in Maharashtra, according to Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.

Aaple Sarkar Portal to Streamline University Services

As per the official press release, universities and affiliated colleges have been instructed to update their websites with details of these services under the “Right to Services (RTS)” tab. Students submitting applications will be able to track them in real-time on the Aaple Sarkar dashboard, which displays the number of applications received, pending, and completed. The consolidated data of all universities will also be available on the portal, ensuring complete transparency.

Universities to Verify Applications on Time

Minister Chandrakant Patil emphasized that universities will be required to verify applications promptly and deliver services within the prescribed time frame under the RTS Act. Each college will also appoint a legal officer to supervise the services and ensure compliance.

Students must first register on their university websites before applying through the portal. To maintain the integrity of academic records, universities have also been directed to adopt blockchain-based certificate verification systems. This will prevent misuse of academic documents and enhance security in credential verification.

Monitoring and Training for Effective Implementation

To ensure smooth implementation, vice-chancellors have been instructed to conduct weekly reviews to monitor progress. Additionally, the department will organize training workshops for university officials to help them efficiently manage the new system.

The services being offered include online issuance of certificates, mark sheets, and other essential documents. To further enhance communication, students will receive SMS alerts about the status of their applications.

Vocational Education and Student-Centric Reforms

In addition to providing these services, the Higher and Technical Education Department has also instructed universities and colleges to actively promote vocational education. This will help align academic reforms with employability and skill development initiatives.

Minister Chandrakant Patil reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring that students do not face unnecessary delays in accessing academic services. By integrating universities into the Aaple Sarkar portal, Maharashtra aims to provide efficient, transparent, and time-bound services to its student population.

The launch of 56 university services on the Aaple Sarkar portal marks a transformative step for higher education in Maharashtra. By combining digital governance, blockchain verification, SMS notifications, and transparent dashboards, the initiative not only simplifies processes but also empowers nearly 20 lakh students. With universities, colleges, and government departments working in sync, the move is expected to significantly improve student satisfaction, service delivery, and academic accountability across the state.
