Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to visit Karnataka on 10th August 2025, marking a significant day for the state’s urban and regional transport infrastructure. At around 11 AM, Prime Minister Modi will arrive at KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, where he will flag off three Vande Bharat Express trains. Following the train flag-offs, the Prime Minister will move to inaugurate the Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro. Starting his metro journey from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Electronic City, PM Modi will experience the expanded urban rail network that promises to transform daily commuting for millions. The Yellow Line, part of Bangalore Metro Phase-2 project, covers over 19 kilometers with 16 stations and represents an investment of approximately Rs 7,160 crore.
The operational metro network in Bengaluru will expand to over 96 kilometers after this opening, serving a wider population and easing traffic congestion in one of India’s fastest-growing cities. This expansion is expected to bolster sustainable urban mobility and reduce pollution.
At around 1 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several critical urban connectivity projects in Bengaluru. This includes the foundation stone laying of Bangalore Metro Phase-3, a massive infrastructure initiative valued at over Rs 15,610 crore. Phase-3 will extend the metro by more than 44 kilometers with 31 elevated stations, targeting key residential, industrial, commercial, and educational hubs in the city.
