Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu, has officially invited online applications for admission to its Ph.D. programmes (Full-Time and Part-Time) for the academic year 2025–2026 (July Session). Admissions are offered in various disciplines through University Departments, Affiliated Colleges, and Recognized Research Centres, with selection based on a Common Entrance Test (CET) followed by an interview.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following academic and professional requirements:
Postgraduate Degree: Candidates must hold a PG degree with at least 55% marks. For SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD candidates, a relaxation of 5% is provided.
Professional Degree Holders (CA/CS/ICWA): A minimum of two years’ work experience after obtaining the qualification is required.
Foreign Applicants: Candidates from outside India must hold equivalent PG qualifications, certified appropriately for equivalency.
ADMISSION PROCESS
The selection process involves:
- Common Entrance Test (CET): 70 marks
- Interview: 30 marks
A merit list will be prepared based on:
- 50% weightage to CET or NET score
- 50% weightage to PG academic performance
APPLICATION FEE
- General/OBC/EWS candidates: ₹1000
- SC/ST/PwD candidates (valid community/medical certificate required): ₹500
