The Pondicherry Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (PIHMCT), sponsored by the Government of India and the Government of Puducherry, has opened admissions for its Diploma and Craftsmanship Certificate courses for the academic year 2025–26. COURSES OFFERED
PIHMCT offers three industry-aligned programs:
Diploma in Food Production
- Eligibility: 12th pass (any stream)
- Duration: 18 months
- Includes: 6 months of Industrial Exposure Training
Diploma in Food and Beverage Service
- Eligibility: 12th pass (any stream)
- Duration: 18 months
- Includes: 24 weeks of Industrial Exposure Training
Craftsmanship Certificate Course in Food Production & Patisserie
- Eligibility: 10th pass
- Duration: 18 months
- Includes: 20 weeks of Industrial Exposure Training
These programs are tailored to provide hands-on experience and practical training essential for careers in hotels, restaurants, catering services, and food production industries.
ADMISSION PROCESS
Admissions to all courses will be done purely on a merit basis, determined by the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The institute gives priority to residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry, promoting local talent and employment.
FACILITIES AND FEES
PIHMCT provides hostel accommodation for both boys and girls at an additional annual fee of ₹48,500, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
