The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), in collaboration with MyGov, proudly announces an exciting essay competition on the theme “Daam Kam- Dawai Uttam” to mark the 7th Jan Aushadhi Diwas. This initiative aims to spread awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) and the significant role of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in making quality medicines accessible at lower prices.
THE VISION OF JAN AUSHADHI KENDRAS
With a new vision to expand the reach of affordable medicines, the Government of India has set an ambitious target of establishing 25,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the nation. Currently, over 15,000 Kendras operate across India, offering high-quality generic medicines at 50% to 80% lower prices compared to branded medicines. By engaging entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and citizens, this initiative strengthens the healthcare ecosystem and ensures cost-effective treatment for millions.
ABOUT THE ESSAY COMPETITION
This essay competition provides a dynamic platform for citizens to express their views on the significance of affordable medicines and their impact on society. Participants are encouraged to share innovative ideas and experiences related to Jan Aushadhi Kendras and their role in making healthcare accessible to all.
PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
- One entry per participant is allowed.
- The essay should be within 150 words and can be written in Hindi or English.
- Participants must use an A4 un-ruled sheet for their handwritten essays.
- The document should be scanned and submitted in PDF format.
- AI-generated content is strictly prohibited, and any such entry will be disqualified.

Winners of the competition will receive:
