Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India has invited online applications for the Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities 2024 – 25

Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities 2024 – 25 open to students with benchmark disability i.e. 40% or more disability as defined in Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and having a valid certificate of disability issued by the competent authority as prescribed under Rules,

No two children with disabilities of the same parents are entitled to receive benefits of the scheme, In case the second child is a twin, the scholarship under the schemes will be admissible to the twin

Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities 2024 – 25 are given for studying in any class for only one year, Merit Criteria for Selection will be Percentage of disability as indicated in the disability certificate,

ELIGIBLITY

Students with Disabilities (40% or more disability) studying in Graduate and Post-Graduate Degree / Diploma in notified institutes of excellence in education, Annual income of parents from all sources less than Rs 8 Lakh are eligible to apply

BENEFIT

Reimbursement of tuition fees and non-refundable charges paid/ payable to the Institute Up to Rs 2 lakh per annum, Maintenance Allowance Rs.3,000 per month for hostellers, Rs. 1,500 per month for day-scholars,

Special Allowances Rs 2000 per month, Books & Stationery – Rs 5000 per annum, Reimbursement of expenses for purchase of a computer/ laptop with accessories – Rs. 45,000 as a one time grant in the first year of the course, Reimbursement of expenses for purchase of Aids and Assistive devices relating to the particular disability of the selected candidates – Rs. 30,000 as a one time grant in the first year of the course

DOCUMENTS

The documents required to apply for Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities 2024 – 25 are photograph, proof of age, disability certificate, income certificate of the parent, tuition fees receipt, last academic qualification certificate

UDID/UDID enrolment mandatory for availing the benefits of the Scholarship scheme, Candidates have to undergo Aadhaar based biometric authentication to get benefits of the Scholarship,
