From this academic year, if everything goes as per the proposed plans, the Department of School Education and Literacy, Karnataka likely to introduce a centralised annual examination for students of classes 9 and 11 for state board affiliated schools, similar to the centralised annual examination model of Gujarat and Kerala government 

If the proposed plan is enforced then the Karnataka State will have a centralised annual examination for classes 5, 8, 9 and 11, wherein the annual examination question paper will be set by Karnataka State Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) and the evaluation to be conducted at the school and taluk level,

In order to prepare the students to face the SSLC and second PUC board examinations the Department of School Education and Literacy, Karnataka likely to introduce centralised annual examination for classes 9 and 11

As per the assessment reports the quality of education has been reduced, the Department of School Education and Literacy, Karnataka wants to improve the learning outcomes in high school, also aims to bridge the learning gaps among high school students. 

Meanwhile similar to classes 5 and 8, the annual examination of 9 and 11, will have a no detention policy, if the student does not get the required passing mark then the student will not be detained in the same class, A proposal regarding centralised annual examination for students of classes 9 and 11 to be submitted to Karnataka State school Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa and to the State Government for final approval
