The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science, the students of Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),
The education in the JNVs Completely free including boarding & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi
At present there are, 646 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas sanctioned in 27 States and 08 Union Territories, A maximum of 80 students are admitted in Class 9 in each Vidyalaya through a Selection Test subject to availability of suitable candidates
In order to optimally utilize the infrastructure and other facilities available in these Vidyalayas, it has been decided by the Samiti to fill the vacant seats in Class 9 through an All India level Admission Test
ELIGIBILITY
The Student who are studying Class VIII during the Academic Session 2020-21 in one of the Govt./Govt. recognized schools of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is functioning and where admission is sought, are eligible,
AGE LIMIT
The student seeking admission must be born between 01.05.2005 and 30.04.2009 (both days inclusive), its applicable to all the categories
SELECTION TEST
JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-9in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya for the academic session 2021-22 will be conducted on Saturday, the 13th February 2021 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of concerned district/ any other centre allotted by NVS, The last date to submit online application is 15th December 2020
NOTE : Under no circumstances No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time
PROCEDURE TO APPLY

ADMIT CARDS
Should be download Online only, The admit cards will be made available before the Examinations as per date decided by JNVs in due course which will be displayed on application portal
NOTE : The Centre of Selection test will be printed in Admit Card, No request for change of center will be entertained
RESULTS
Result of the Selection Test may be noted from the application portal of NVS through which application is submitted, The results of JNV Selection Test 2021 will be announced online and is expected to be announced by June 2021
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The Selection will be based on written test and at the time of admission should submit all the relevant certificates (Note : Candidates are advised to apply for TC from their parent school only after the verification of documents and confirmation of admission),
The marks obtained in the selection test will not be displayed and There is no provision for re valuation of the answer scripts or retotalling of marks, The candidates and their parents/guardians may note that the children selected on the basis of the Selection Test will be admitted only in the JNV located in their district from where they are studying in class V and appearing for the Selection test
Minimum 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas of the district and remaining seats will be filled from the Urban areas of the district

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
- Proof for date of birth.
- Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NVS.
- For candidates seeking admission under rural quota, the parents will also have to submit a certificate from the competent authority to the effect that the child had studied in an Institution / School located in a rural area.
- Residence Certificate in prescribed proforma in case of NIOS studies only
- Any other documents if required.

EXAM PATTERN
Duration – 2 ½ hours (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM). However, in respect of candidates with special needs (Divyang), additional time of 30 minutes will be provided, subject to the production of certificates from the competent authority,Medium of Language for Examination will be English/Hind, Students have to answer in OMR sheet, Selection Test will consist of questions from the subjects of Mathematics, General Science, English and Hindi. Difficulty level of the test paper shall be of Class VIII.
